Telemetry base station
It consists of the Adcon Telemetry A850 data gateway, the A440 UHF radio modem and the 30 m interconnection cable between the two mentioned units.
The A850 Data Concentrator allows real-time data collection from telemetric nodes, as well as complete configuration of nodes and network between nodes. It is mounted in a solid metal case and provides control over the node network.
The A850 can control networks up to 5, up to 100, up to 250, up to 500 or up to 1,000 nodes. According to the requirement in the specification, it will be delivered with up to 100 nodes, and it will be upgraded later for up to 250 nodes, if necessary.
The A850 is able to communicate with telemetry nodes via GSM-GPRS and radio in the UHF band of 430-440 MHz, on free frequencies that are reserved for telemetry applications across the country. The communication with the server is done via the Internet.
It has 5 communication ports, plus the console.
The A850 can be powered from a commercial network with voltages ranging from 90 to 240 V AC and it is equipped with internal 4.500 mAh batteries, that can supply voltage for a period of 4-5 hours, in case that the commercial network is down.
Server with dedicated software for data processing and Internet display.
Component:
o 1 x HPML 310 Proliant Server: Intel Xeon E3 processor, 16GB DDR3 RAM, integrated video card; storage unit: 2TB;
o 1 x Monitor: LED with 24 “Full HD diagonal;
o 1 x USB keyboard;
o 1 x USB Optical Mouse.
Dedicated software for network monitoring, compatible with the telemetry station
The Adcon addVANTAGE Pro 6.4 software package is available for the server.
AddVANTANTAGE Pro 6.4 ensures both the display of primary data received through the network of sensors, including the Internet, as well as the processing and analysis of these data according to the application’s needs through customizable procedures.
The result of the processing and analysis of data can be provided in the form of graphs, in the form of tables or as a representation of the measuring instrument specific to each parameter.
Both raw data and the results of data processing are available online to users. In order to allow access to data, the users have to login using their names and a password, also, users rights are secured according to a 3 level-hierarchy.
It is possible to define alarms and events, after which the addVANTAGE server sends emails to a previously established list of addresses.
Telemetric node
All telemetric node functions will be accomplished by the Remote Telemetry Unit (RTU) Adcon A753 addWAVE UHF.
The RTU Adcon A753 UHF will communicate with the telemetry base station and/or with the other telemetric nodes through the UHF radio band, at a frequency close to 433 MHz, reserved free of charge throughout the national territory for telemetry applications. The power of 500 mW at emission and the sensitivity of -120 dBm at the reception, ensures the communication over mileage distances which can reach 30-50 km on the routes that the transmitter and receiver are on the same line-of- sight.
The aluminum case of the RTU A753 and the high-quality Binder connectors ensure the operation of the unit in outdoor weather conditions throughout the year, without the need for any other protection enclosure.
The set up of the sampling time, reading time and of the other parameters which governs the operation of the RTU is done in the base telemetry station A850, which makes the field trips, in order to perform the operations, to be no longer necessary. Also, configuration in A850 is done remotely by the user who is given administrator privileges.
Adcon A753 telemetry node is fully compatible with the Adcon A850 telemetry base station and it is powered by the battery inside the case and it is recharged daily by the solar panel adjacent to the node. The panel-battery system’s dimensions allow smooth passage over intense cloud periods of at least 7 days.
It includes a monitoring software which continuously cooperates with that of the base station.
Key features of the Gemalto processing / development board
The Cinterion® Concept Board is a development tool engineered by Gemalto which enables programmers worldwide to quickly build M2M and Internet of Things (IoT) prototypes.
Thanks to its Shield Interface (following Arduino), little to no hardware expertise is needed to connect all kinds of sensors and actuators. Wireless connectivity is provided by the Cinterion® EHS6 module and the on-board penta-band antenna.
Applications are written in Java using widely spread tools such as Eclipse and NetBeans.
